How To Become A Member PDF Print E-mail
You may become a member when you can answer ‘Yes’ to the following questions:

1.  Have I placed my faith in Jesus as my Savior and Lord?  (Click here for more information.)

2.  Have I filled-out and turned in a Membership Commitment Card?  (This can be done in the 'Beginnings' class, or by coming forward in a worship service, or in a meeting with someone on the pastoral staff.)

3.  Have I been baptized by immersion as a symbol of my faith in Christ?
(We ask that all members undergo Scriptural baptism in this church or a like-minded church.  If you have any questions about this, please ask.)

4.  Have I completed ‘Beginnings,’ our class for new and prospective members?
(There are five classes in our discipleship program.  Only the first one, 'Beginnings,' is required for church membership.)

Once you can answer ‘Yes’ to these four questions, a pastor will meet with you and you will be presented for membership to the church at the next quarterly business meeting.  While technically you are not a member of the church until the quarterly business meeting, after you have completed these steps you can work and serve like a member in all capacities except voting in business meetings.

Membership Questions

What if I am coming from another church?
The process is the same as that outlined above.  Our church office will communicate with the church that you are moving your membership from and take care of the appropriate records.

Do I have to ‘come forward’ during a service?
No.  People do come forward and are encouraged to come forward to indicate their desire to make a membership commitment, but it is not a requirement.  You can indicate your commitment to membership at any time by filling-out and submitting a membership commitment card.  You can fill that out during the invitation time at the end of a worship service, or you can do that in the Beginnings class, or you can do it in a private conference with a member of our pastoral staff.
