We know that it can be challenging to have spiritual conversations with your child. Here's a simple tool to help your shepherd your child in understanding the truth of the Gospel.

Use these follow up questions to discern where your child's heart is in their journey to follow Jesus.

What does it mean that we are sinners?

This question is to help you discern if your child understands the principle of sin and how it has affected them and the world around them.

What has God done for us?

Here, the point is to see do they understand the hope and salvation that can only be found in Jesus.

How can we have a relationship with God?

The main focus of this question is to point them to the concept of repentance (turning from sin) and following Jesus with all their heart, soul, and mind.

What do you think we should do next?

There are a lot of next steps for your child to take. Perhaps they have more questions. By God's grace, they could be ready to follow Jesus. Whatever it is, celebrate their desire to grow in their understanding of the Gospel.
