Teams

At First Baptist Heath, we believe every person has been uniquely gifted by God to make a difference. Serving on a team is more than filling a role — it’s an opportunity to use your gifts, passions, and abilities to help people experience the love of Christ and advance God’s Kingdom. Whether you enjoy welcoming guests, investing in the next generation, leading behind the scenes, or helping create meaningful worship experiences, there’s a place for you to serve. Teams are one of the best ways to grow in your faith, build relationships, and be part of what God is doing through our church. Explore the opportunities below and prayerfully consider where God may be calling you to serve.

Raising Kingdom Leaders

The NextGen Team exists to raise up the next generation of Kingdom leaders who know Christ, love His Church, and boldly live out their faith. We partner with families to disciple children and students in truth, character, and calling so they are prepared to stand firm in a shifting culture. Our aim is not just church attendance, but to develop lifelong Kingdom citizens. We invest today so they will impact eternity tomorrow.

Serve as: Nursery workers, kids ministry teachers & helpers, registration receptionists, kids event coordinators, youth group leaders & helpers, staff training, camp volunteers, and discipleship mentors.

Shaping Hearts for Kingdom Worship

The Worship Team serves by leading the church to encounter God in spirit and in truth. Through music, Scripture, and intentional preparation, we help shape hearts to treasure Christ above all else. Our goal is not performance but participation by inviting every believer to respond to the King with wholehearted praise. We worship now as preparation for eternal worship in His Kingdom.

Serve as: Vocalists, instrumentalists, audio/visual team members, livestream operators, slide operators, and rehearsal support volunteers.

Every Guest Seen. Every Guest Loved. For the Kingdom

The Welcome Team creates a first impression that reflects the heart of Christ as warm, attentive, and genuine. We believe every guest matters because every soul matters to God. From the parking lot to their seat, we strive to ensure that each person feels seen, valued, and invited into Kingdom community. Hospitality becomes ministry when it opens doors for the gospel.

Serve as: Greeters, parking lot team members, door hosts, ushers, connection desk volunteers, first-time guest hosts, coffee team members, safety team members, and follow-up callers.

Calling on God For Kingdom Impact

The Prayer Team stands in the gap, seeking God’s power and presence over every ministry, service, and family at First Baptist Heath. We recognize that lasting Kingdom fruit is born not from human effort but from divine intervention. Through intercession, we align our church with God’s will and invite His Spirit to move mightily among us. Prayer is not preparation for the work, it is the work.

Serve as: Prayer warriors for church family, altar prayer team members, intercessors for staff and ministries, prayer chain volunteers, and response-time counselors.

Caring for God's House For Kingdom Living

The Building and Grounds Team faithfully stewards the spaces where ministry happens. By maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment, we remove distractions and create room for worship, discipleship, and fellowship to flourish. We serve behind the scenes so the mission can move forward without hindrance. Caring for God’s house supports Kingdom living in every generation.

Serve as: Facility maintenance volunteers, emergency crews, general maintenance helpers, setup and teardown teams, event preparation teams, cleaning crews, long-term facility & construction planning.
